Active My Way is here to help you live a more active life
It can sometimes be a challenge to build activity into your everyday life, and it can also be really hard to take those first steps into activity, particularly if you have a long-term health condition or maybe haven’t exercised since school!
We built this website to help you take those first steps…
The idea initially came from the realisation that if someone wanted to get more active, it was really hard for them to find out what was available in their local area. Information tended to be scattered across a range of websites and if they didn’t already know where to look, then it was really hard to find the information they needed.
Our activity finder, which is at the heart of Active My Way, changes all that. Using Open Data, it pulls together a huge range of activities into one place, making it easier to find something you will enjoy, at the right level, at a time and location that is convenient for you.
Alongside the activity finder, there is plenty of guidance to help you think about what sort of activity might be right for you, and lots of tips about how to get started. We also have inspiring stories from real people who have got active and found it has changes their lives.
If you are a healthcare professional working with inactive people, we have lots of information and links to help you encourage those you support to get active, and again for the first time our activity finder provides you with a tool to use with your patients to signpost them to appropriate activities and opportunities.
Active My Way is the brainchild of Together Active. Our vision is Everyone More Active More Often, and we work with a range of local and national organisations to make this happen. You can find out more about us here.
