We love to get people active. Increasing participation in physical activity helps create a healthier population. But getting the word out can be difficult. That’s where open data comes in.

The activity finder on Active My Way works because of open data. Things like class times, location and cost are shared by clubs and groups on Open Active compiliant booking systems and our activity finder pulls all of that information together. It means that all the information people need to start a new activity is in one place.

Sensitive data such as names, emails and payment information would not be open data.

Opening your data simply means making it easier for people to find out about your activity when they search on the internet. The more people know about you, the more people are likely to join in!
